Chapter One: Rising from the Grave in the Divine Seal Throne
Demon Emperor Palace, Underground Halls.
This was the resting place of all previous Demon Emperors, commonly referred to as the Mausoleum.
At the very center of the palace, six pitch-black coffins were arrayed from left to right.
Directly in front of the coffins stood six equally dark memorial tablets.
The place was utterly empty, its silence so profound it was almost terrifying.
Suddenly, a deafening explosion shattered the stillness, so loud it seemed to reverberate through the stone walls.
From the center-most coffin—crafted entirely from the hardest meteorite iron—a hand punched straight through the lid. That someone could break free from such a coffin with a single blow was testament to their extraordinary power.
In the next moment, the entire lid disintegrated into dust.
A woman in black robes emerged.
She was strikingly beautiful, her luxurious black robe embroidered with lines of violet thread that formed the image of a defiant demonic dragon.
When she opened her eyes, her phoenix-like gaze shimmered with depth and mystery.
“So my aura was a bit weak and my soul left my body for a while, and you ungrateful descendants just assumed I was dead?”
“You even sealed my coffin with a double lid—were you afraid I’d come back to life?”
Muttering to herself, she stepped out of the coffin.
Though no spiritual energy seemed to emanate from her, her every movement exuded a potent and inescapable aura.
Her phoenix eyes swept the surroundings, her immense spiritual power instantly enveloping the entire Demon Emperor Palace.
Ah, she was in the underground mausoleum of the Demon Emperor Palace.
Her gaze finally rested on the coffin to her left, a trace of sorrow flickering in her eyes.
She sighed softly. “My brother, the first Demon Emperor, I can’t believe you’re already gone. And so soon.”
Indeed, she was the elder sister of the first Demon Emperor. Her surname was Feng, and her given name Yun—Feng Yun.
The present royal line of the Defiant Demon Dragon clan were all descendants of her brother.
And of course, she was a transmigrator.
In her previous life, after being run over by both a truck and a car in succession, Feng Yun had crossed into the Sacred Demon Continent, where she became the first Defiant Demon Dragon birthed by the Defiant Demon Pillar.
“Dead is dead. After living for over a thousand years, that’s more than enough.”
She shook her head gently, her eyes revealing the weariness of ages, as if she could see through the void and all things hidden.
“So, what era is it now?”
As her words faded, the pitch-black underground palace was once again empty.
No one had noticed Feng Yun’s awakening, not even the three most powerful Demon Gods of Sun, Moon, and Star.
Only within the human fortress of Dragon’s Gate did a faint white glow shimmer atop the Thrones of Eternity and Creation.
When Feng Yun appeared again, she was already in the main hall of the Demon Emperor Palace.
The main hall was where other demon gods paid homage to the Demon Emperor, and where the demon court convened.
The palace wasn’t large—barely over five thousand square meters. Its architecture and decor were simple, adorned with little more than a thousand magical arrays, some large and some small.
At the very center of the hall stood a throne.
The throne was jet-black and imposing, its back carved with two lifelike defiant demon dragons, emanating a mysterious and commanding presence.
This throne symbolized the authority of the Demon Emperor, and, by extension, the power of the demon race.
Now, seated upon that throne, was Feng Yun herself.
At this moment, her brows were furrowed as she unleashed her spiritual sense, scanning the entirety of Demon Capital’s heart.
Something was wrong. Where was the Demon Emperor of this era?
The palace was vast—where could the Demon Emperor have gone?
Outside the palace, a squad of Demon Dragon Guards was patrolling, oblivious to the fact that a living person now occupied the main hall.
The Demon Dragon Guards were responsible for the protection of the Demon Emperor and the security of the palace.
In the next instant, the captain of the Demon Dragon Guards vanished without a trace, suddenly appearing inside the main hall.
As fate would have it, this man was none other than Huang Shuo, commander of the Demon Dragon Guards.
Inside the main hall—
“Who are you!”
Huang Shuo did not panic. The moment he was seized, he knew his situation was dire.
As the commander of the guards, he was already one of the world’s top experts. Only someone at the level of the Demon Emperor herself, Feng Xiu, could have the power to abduct him so silently.
But the Demon Emperor was not present. It must be some other formidable figure!
A voice sounded from ahead.
“I am your ancestor.”
Seated upon the throne, Feng Yun spoke these words with an air of calm.
She was, after all, the first Defiant Demon Dragon birthed by the Demon Pillar—truly the forebear of all demons.
My ancestor?
What nonsense.
Huang Shuo drew his sword, pointing it at Feng Yun. “Who are you, really? You have no right to sit there!”
“Oh? Feeling rebellious?”
Feng Yun lounged lazily against the throne, one leg casually crossed over the other, as if everything was well within her control.
“Come now, child, let’s play a little question and answer. Tell me, what era is this? And where is the Demon Emperor?”
But Huang Shuo’s only answer was his sword.
Without a word, he charged at Feng Yun.
She shook her head lightly, and tapped her finger against the armrest.
“Kneel.”
In the next moment, an overwhelming pressure crashed down upon Huang Shuo, while the bloodline aura of the Defiant Demon Dragon Royalty emanated from Feng Yun.
With a thud, Huang Shuo fell to his knees.
The bloodline aura left him utterly bewildered.
Was this woman truly of the royal demon dragon line?
Feng Yun spoke coolly, “Having an ancestor suddenly appear is indeed a bit much to swallow. Never mind, I’ll see for myself.”
With that, she raised her hand and pointed at Huang Shuo.
At once, he floated into the air, drawn before her.
Feng Yun gazed into his grave, murderous eyes; her spiritual sense extended, and her black pupils turned a piercing blue.
Huang Shuo felt nothing but an odd itch inside his head, as if someone were peering into his mind.
His head itched so much he felt as though he might grow a new brain.
He tried to resist, only to find his spiritual power completely suppressed.
The strength of the figure before him was utterly terrifying.
Soon, Feng Yun withdrew her spiritual sense.
She murmured softly, “I see. Over six thousand years have passed. This is already the sixth generation of the Demon Emperor—the six-hundredth year of the sixth Demon Emperor’s reign.”
It seemed she had awakened a bit too early—at least fifty years ahead of time. At this moment, Long Haochen wasn’t even a fertilized egg.
Still, since she was here, she might as well make the most of it.
Waking early simply meant she had more time to accomplish things.
“So, where is the current Demon Emperor…”
Her words trailed off, her expression turning a shade bemused.
“The current Demon Emperor is… in love?”
As a transmigrator, Feng Yun knew the story—she was well aware of the general course of events on the Sacred Demon Continent. The present Demon Emperor, Feng Xiu, was likely courting Bai Lingxuan.
To avoid revealing his identity, Feng Xiu had sealed his internal power, preventing Bai Lingxuan from sensing his demonic aura.
To ensure no human discovered his whereabouts, he had even forgone his Demon Dragon Guards.
“Love-struck fool… how terrifying.”
