These are my thoughts upon receiving rewards for "Resurrected Empire" in May 2021.

Lately, I've been writing so much of the main story that it's left me rather exhausted. Thus, these reflections are somewhat scattered, a rambling of thoughts without much structure. I'll simply speak from the heart.

It has only been a little over a month since this book began, and already, there is one Silver Patron, seven Alliance Masters, one Grandmaster, one Hall Master, and five Helm Masters. Truly, this was beyond anything I imagined.

As an online novelist, my greatest fortune has been to earn the favor and trust of so many readers before the story had even fully unfolded. It's akin to a scholar in olden days, who, after eighteen years of arduous study, finds himself recognized by the prime minister even before he sits for the imperial examination.

I am deeply grateful.

Especially to Scatterfield, the Silver Patron—I truly never expected that someone like me would have a Silver Patron at the outset of a book.

Some fellow writers, with whom I have a close relationship, bluntly asked whether this was some marketing ploy on my part. I remember my proud tone at the time:

"Of course this is not a marketing Silver. This is a genuine reader, a confidant on my creative journey whom I've never met. He understands my character, knows my professionalism, and has placed immense trust in me, which is why he gave me this opening Silver reward."

I tend to be rather awkward in social situations, so when chatting with Scatterfield himself, I often kept my feelings deeply hidden, rarely letting them show. Yet, paradoxically, when among unrelated others, I am more prone to express my gratitude openly.

Perhaps, as Mr. Lu Xun once said, this is the 'contrived sentimentality' of the Chinese.
