Jerryson truly had no idea how to process a card with “no spending limit.” Still, having been in the casino business for so many years, he was no amateur—his ability to adapt in such places was what had brought him this far. Examining the card closely, he saw that it was indeed from a Swiss bank, quickly checked the logo, and immediately gave instructions to his subordinates. At the same time, he offered a courteous apology, bowing with a smile: “I’m terribly sorry, but this is the first time we’ve encountered such a situation. I must ask you to wait a moment.” Turning to the mixed-blood beauty, he added, “Miss Huo, your patience is appreciated as well.”

The others had no idea what was happening, but seeing Jerryson so shocked by a simple card swipe, they all watched with curiosity. The mixed-blood beauty, who had been about to make a call, looked at Jerryson, utterly puzzled by his reaction.

For centuries, Swiss banks had been renowned for their strict confidentiality, becoming synonymous with massive deposits and laundering for criminal organizations. Swiss banks were considered the world’s most trustworthy, holding nearly a quarter of the globe’s personal wealth. Heads of state, business tycoons, and celebrities all placed their fortunes there for security.

At first, Jerryson had been inwardly amused; this Miss Huo had finally drawn a good hand after so many rounds—yet more importantly, someone actually dared to match her bet. This round’s stakes would surely be high; she would almost certainly negotiate with the house, which was just as well, as it meant the casino could collect a larger cut and perhaps curry some personal favor. Still, he would have to let her brother or the boss handle the final terms.

Now, however, Jerryson was no longer sure of himself. Just then, his subordinate handed him a satellite phone connected to one of Switzerland’s top banks. Jerryson quickly relayed his card reader’s location and the card number, as he’d already entered the confirmation; now, he needed verification of the card’s maximum limit.

Swiss bank service was as legendary as their secrecy, but this time, after two minutes, a new person came on the line, identifying himself as the bank’s vice president.

“Thank you for waiting, and I apologize for the delay. We have checked our bank’s available liquid assets, and you may draw up to thirty billion US dollars. If that is insufficient, our bank’s latest total asset valuation is five hundred and twenty-six billion; the full amount can be used as collateral or guarantee. If you could specify the exact amount needed, we will assemble the funds as quickly as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you.”

Jerryson was speechless. He checked the phone again to make sure there was no mistake, but it was a satellite connection.

Meanwhile, Xiao Tianci sat sprawled in his chair like a model drunk and lecher, sipping his drink and ogling the mixed-blood beauty, his face animated with mischief. The beauty, distracted by Jerryson’s strange behavior, tried not to look at Xiao Tianci, knowing that every glance only stoked her anger. Yet the more she tried to avoid him, the more his presence enraged her, and she wished she could walk over and end him on the spot.

“Hey… hey… are you done yet?” Xiao Tianci impatiently banged the bottle on the table.

Seeing Jerryson standing there dumbfounded, the mixed-blood beauty couldn’t help but snap, “Jerryson, say something! What’s going on?”

Having double-checked everything, Jerryson was inwardly cursing his luck. Who on earth was this person? He’d never heard of such a formidable figure among the Chinese. Could it be the bank was controlled by his father? Even then, this was unbelievable—unless his entire family was insane.

Miss Huo had finally met her match. Still, having lost, she must accept it. Jerryson couldn’t intervene now, but he had to inform the boss immediately. Otherwise, if her brother found out, things would get very messy—he didn’t care about such matters, and even if Jerryson acted on his own, he had to see if he could help her.

Forcing a smile, Jerryson bowed beside Xiao Tianci. “Sir, perhaps the casino can compensate you for the chips on your table. We’re all here to have fun—no need to spoil the mood. What do you say?”

Though thoroughly intoxicated, Xiao Tianci knew he had won, and chuckled, “All right…”

Jerryson breathed a sigh of relief. The mixed-blood beauty, however, was having none of it. She shot to her feet. “Jerryson, what are you saying? I don’t need your help! Make yourself clear, or even if Camillo comes, I won’t let this go.”

His good intentions wasted, Jerryson didn’t have time to placate the fiery young woman before Xiao Tianci’s next words nearly made him choke: “And while you’re at it, the casino can cover whatever’s on this card, too.”

Jerryson was left speechless; this man was clearly set on gambling, no negotiation possible. He thought, “I’ve done my best—if the Green Dragon comes, it’s not on me or the boss.”

“Very well…” Jerryson realized there was no point in arguing. He could only go and tell the mixed-blood beauty the truth: she had no chance left, no matter how strong her cards were—she wouldn’t even get to look at them. Even if she scraped together more funds, it would be pointless; the man had produced a card backed by the bank itself. What more could be done?

Of course, Jerryson would be as tactful as possible in breaking the bad news—he was experienced in these matters. It was not uncommon for people to lose everything overnight in this casino, and Jerryson knew how to deliver such blows gently.

The mixed-blood beauty was stunned—how could this be happening? She was holding a guaranteed winning hand. She’d expected that with a word from her brother to Camillo, the latter would back her to the hilt, expecting a handsome payoff afterward. Now, though, what could she do? She had lost—truly lost—and in such a manner…

Xiao Tianci wobbled to his feet, using his wine bottle as a cane, looking as though he might collapse at any moment if he let go.

“All right… you know you’ve lost now… accept your defeat…” he laughed arrogantly. “Ha ha… now I want to see a beauty… undress… Everyone else—get out!”

The outcome was clear enough, but none of the young lords or the shaven-headed little Japanese had expected things to end this way. All eyes turned to the stunned mixed-blood beauty, awaiting what would happen next…

Suddenly, Xiao Tianci swung his wine bottle. With a crash and a scream, everyone saw that he had smashed the bottle over the Japanese youth’s bald head, leaving it bloodied and blooming.
