Chapter Ninety-Two: The Murderous Demon King
The one who saved Michel was none other than the Slaughter Demon King, Greentz, who had rushed up shouting that he would kill Chief Steward Lin Jian.
Greentz had always been extremely confident in his own speed. His combat technique was designed to push human physical ability to its absolute limit.
When he saw someone carry Michel away, King Kong gave a cold snort and did not give chase. With his body now so enormous, even that casual snort set everyone’s ears buzzing.
From a distance just now, Greentz had seen King Kong take Michel’s fire dragon head-on. Looking at that colossal body, he knew this had to be King Kong. He and Michel had both joined Ghost later on, so neither of them had any prior contact with King Kong.
Though the Slaughter Demon King had a violent temper, he had survived for many years despite being wanted by the United States government. His mind was absolutely not stupid. Even though he had never fought Michel directly, he knew perfectly well that he himself would never dare to take that fire dragon head-on, much less the air lock technique in Michel’s hands. It seemed today’s mission could not be completed. So he slipped away, passing far from Xiao Tianci and the others.
After rescuing Michel, Greentz quickly withdrew to a great distance, fearing that King Kong would pursue him. But when he looked up and saw King Kong standing there without giving chase, he finally let out a breath of relief.
If this mission failed and Michel also died, who would be left to take the blame when they returned? Greentz inwardly laughed. This time he had saved Michel once; when they went back, that was the perfect chance to make him shoulder all the罪. Of course, maybe...
Just now, when he passed by Stans, Greentz had struck him once to wake him up. And now he had saved Michel as well. The hundred-odd men he had brought were already catching up, but when they saw King Kong standing there, how could Greentz dare to make a move? Holding Michel, he slipped away at once and ordered his men to withdraw swiftly as well.
The enemy had only just shown himself before retreating again like a tide. No one dared be careless. Once it was clear that they truly had all pulled back, Xiao Tianci hurried over to King Kong. King Kong had been large enough to see far, and by the time Xiao Tianci reached him, he had already returned to the size he had been after his first transformation.
"How are you, King Kong?" Xiao Tianci had been watching everything just now. Setting aside everything else, the sight of King Kong being struck by lightning in midair had already been enough to chill him to the bone.
King Kong nodded, looking weak as though he had just recovered from a serious illness. "I’m fine, Boss. We should leave here as soon as possible..."
"Ha-ha... Want to leave? It won’t be that easy." Everyone was startled to hear Greentz laughing arrogantly as he walked back from the direction they had just retreated, with two people following behind him: Michel and Stans.
No one had expected them to return. Xiao Tianci said, "What, was the lesson you just got not enough? Do you want to die here before you’re satisfied?"
Seeing them come back, King Kong’s expression changed. He secretly cried out that something was bad. Why had he not made a move just now? No one understood his weakness better than Ghost. Since Ghost had sent people to deal with him, how could he possibly not have told them about it?
Greentz laughed triumphantly. "Boss Xiao—no, I should call you Boss Xiao the Prodigal Son. You really are impressive. Such a huge family fortune, and you managed to ruin it in just a few moves. And now even the United States has been swept up by a financial storm. Truly remarkable! But there’s something you probably don’t know."
As he spoke, Greentz looked at King Kong. "I used to work in a very special department, so I had access to many secrets—that is, things that others do not know, especially the secrets of powerful figures or outstanding individuals. Back then, there appeared in the world an extremely formidable man. Even several of the top combat experts in the world and a few of the highest-ranked assassins were wiped out by him. His nickname was King Kong, and his file happened to be kept in that secret department. And I happened to see it."
Greentz laughed wickedly. "So I learned a secret about this powerful King Kong. The third transformation of his King Kong power is indeed unimaginably strong, but it can only be maintained for half an hour. That is the limit. After that, for the next three days, he won’t even have the strength to lift a finger. Right now his King Kong power has reached the third stage, so he can no longer transform. Ha-ha... ha-ha..."
King Kong stepped forward. "Is that so? Then come up here and try."
Greentz shook his head. "No, Mr. King Kong. I do enjoy killing people, but I never do things I’m not sure of. Against a master as powerful as you, I wouldn’t dare make a move lightly. Besides..." He glanced at the injury on his arm, then looked at Chief Steward Lin Jian with murderous eyes. "My arm was wounded by that pretty boy, so I won’t be keeping you company today. But there is someone who may be very happy to play with you."
Then Greentz turned to the still-dazed Michel and said, "My dear friend, if you want to avenge your brother, now is the best time. Don’t be afraid. According to the information I have, the reason he didn’t chase us just now was not because he was merciful. It was because he wanted to preserve his strength. You must know that if he had really killed us, he probably wouldn’t even have had the strength to move afterward. How could he then protect his master? So you can rest easy now. At most, he can transform twice more. Gather your courage. Do not let him frighten you. Don’t you want to become the number-one warrior under the master’s command? Don’t you want to avenge your brother?"
Only then did King Kong realize that Greentz had not learned his transformation secret from Ghost. Why had Ghost not told them this secret? This was his weakness now; if they mastered it, dealing with him would be much easier. What should he do now?
Xiao Tianci watched King Kong’s expression and knew that Greentz was telling the truth. "King Kong, is what he’s saying true? How are you really holding up?"
King Kong nodded. "Boss, it’s true. The true energy required for the third transformation is more than I can fully supply right now. I still haven’t reached the stage where pure yang gives birth to yin. That’s why I have this flaw. Just now I didn’t dare use my energy too recklessly because I wanted to scare them off so we could retreat quickly. I never expected..."
"Enough. Your thinking was not wrong. Right now everyone needs to pool our wisdom and see how we can get through this. They’re wounded too and have suffered losses of their own. Who wins and who loses is still uncertain." Xiao Tianci understood perfectly well that the only formidable fighter beside him now was King Kong Fang Meng. If Fang Meng truly became completely immobile, then he himself would be in real danger.
"Yes."
Greentz kept trying to persuade Michel to act. Even if he had not been injured, he would never have dared to do something so life-threatening. Xiao Tianci could not join the battle, but his mind had not stopped working for a moment.
"Everyone listen carefully. That Michel will definitely be persuaded into fighting King Kong in a moment. King Kong, can you still transform a second time now?" Michel had also been injured, but his was an ability-type injury, and Xiao Tianci could not tell how much it would affect his strength. Still, from the battle just now, if King Kong could fight after a second transformation, there would still be a chance. If not, he might not even be able to beat Stans, let alone with that old bastard Greentz hovering nearby.
King Kong said, "I can still transform a second time, but I can only bring out at most seventy percent of my usual strength."
"That should be enough. Michel won’t be in much better shape. As for Stans, I noticed just now that the more water he controls in an attack, the more concentration he needs. In other words, if we prevent him from concentrating, then his ability is basically useless. So in a moment, the other guards should focus mainly on Stans. Use concentrated fire to keep him from using water attacks. Otherwise, his killing power is no small matter."
Xiao Tianci glanced at Chief Steward Lin Jian and smiled slightly. "Was that man injured by you just now?"
Chief Steward Lin Jian nodded. The man had been shouting "pretty boy" all the way, and from what he had said just now, among these people only Chief Steward Lin Jian fit that description.
The murderous Slaughter Demon King Greentz. Over the years, the number of people who had died at his hands was likely at least a thousand. Despite repeated attempts by the United States government, they had never caught him.
Xiao Tianci said, "He has skill, and he’s afraid of dying. He never fights anyone stronger than himself unless he has to. Cruel and merciless, even to the point of being inhuman. Catching someone like that is not easy."
"In that case, Chief Steward, Lu Man, and I will be responsible for holding Greentz back."
Hearing Xiao Tianci swiftly analyze the situation and make a reasonable deployment under limited strength, Chief Steward and the others all nodded in agreement. The Chief Steward emphasized, "The gun formation must still maintain its stance. We have to protect the Boss’s safety. There must not be the slightest mistake."
"Yes!" everyone answered in unison. Their voices were not loud, but they were firm beyond doubt.
After some effort, Greentz finally managed to stir Michel into action. In truth, the main thing he did was reignite Michel’s fighting spirit. Michel had already been frightened by King Kong and had fear in his heart, but Greentz kept using the master he had always strived to serve, as well as the death of his brother, to constantly provoke him. From his earlier collapse, Michel gradually regained his senses and once again summoned the courage to fight King Kong.
At last, rage returned to Michel’s eyes, and Greentz was secretly delighted. Whether what had been seen earlier was real or false, nothing would happen to him. But then his eyes shifted to Chief Steward Lin Jian. The two bullets in his body still had not been removed, and he wanted to kill that pretty boy himself.
A highly skilled former martial expert from the United States, the crazed Slaughter Demon King Greentz. Over the years, the number of people who had died at his hands was probably at least a thousand, and despite multiple arrests by the United States government, he had never been captured.
Xiao Tianci said, "He has strength, and he’s afraid of death. He rarely fights people stronger than himself. He’s ruthless and vicious, even inhuman. It’s hard to capture someone like that!"
"In that case, Chief Steward, Lu Man, and I will be responsible for holding this Greentz back."
Having heard Xiao Tianci quickly analyze the situation and make rational arrangements, everyone with limited strength, including the Chief Steward, nodded in agreement. The Chief Steward stressed, "The gun formation must remain in place. We have to protect the Boss’s safety. There must be absolutely no mistakes."
"Yes!" All of them answered in neat unison. Though their voices were not loud, they were unwavering.
Greentz finally managed, after much effort, to persuade Michel. In truth, he had only reignited Michel’s fighting spirit. Michel had already been cowed by King Kong, and fear had taken root in his heart, but Greentz kept using the master he had long striven to serve, as well as his brother’s death, to continuously provoke him. From his earlier dazed collapse, Michel gradually came to his senses and once more found the courage to fight King Kong.
At last, fury returned to Michel’s eyes, and Greentz felt pleased. Whether what he had seen earlier was real or fake, it would not matter to him. But his gaze fell on Chief Steward Lin Jian, and seeing that the two bullets in him still had not been taken out, he wanted to kill that pretty boy with his own hands.
