Tang's mother bore a strong resemblance to Tang Yi; apart from some wrinkles around the eyebrows and temples and a few strands of gray hair, the mother and daughter looked over eighty percent alike. Her spirit seemed somewhat feeble, and she dressed like an elderly woman from the countryside. When mother and daughter met, they couldn’t help but cling to each other and weep bitterly.

Meanwhile, Chu Tianfeng took the opportunity to deal with the elderly guard and reduced his body to ashes. Seeing Chu Tianfeng, Tang’s mother seemed to shed her sorrow, her eyes shining brightly.

“Young man, what’s your name?” Tang’s mother sized Chu Tianfeng up from head to toe.

Chu Tianfeng glanced at Tang Yi with some puzzlement, then politely bowed to the mother, “Auntie, my name is Chu Tianfeng.” Then he extended his right hand and pressed it gently on her lower abdomen. “Auntie, do you feel any discomfort?”

In fact, his spiritual perception had already scanned her entire body. Finding no major issues but noticing her lack of vitality, he discreetly infused a little true energy into her.

“I’m fine, eating and sleeping well here,” she said, pausing before asking, “Chu, how old are you?”

“Uh, twenty-nine,” Chu Tianfeng replied casually, withdrawing his hand.

Since she was an ordinary person and quite old, he only gave her a small amount of energy to gently nourish her, mindful that excessive replenishment wouldn’t be accepted.

“What a coincidence! Yi’er is also twenty-nine. Isn’t that something?” The old lady’s eyes nearly closed into slits.

Chu Tianfeng already sensed trouble and thought, coincidence my foot!

“Auntie, it’s getting late. We need to head back to Tianhai,” he tried to change the subject.

But he clearly underestimated the old lady’s sharpness.

“Alright, we can talk as we walk,” she corrected him effortlessly. “Chu, who do you have at home?”

Chu Tianfeng looked at Tang Yi, but she turned her head, covering her mouth to stifle a laugh.

When they got into the car, the old lady even insisted on sitting in the passenger seat, making Chu Tianfeng’s scalp tingle.

“Chu, do you have a girlfriend?” she asked immediately after getting in.

Finally, Chu Tianfeng found an excuse and hurriedly admitted, “Yes, I have a fiancée.”

“Chu, lying isn’t good. You have a fiancée and yet you come here in the middle of the night with my daughter?” Tang’s mother’s mind was quick and sharp.

“Uh…” Chu Tianfeng admired her logic wholeheartedly.

“Chu, judging by your accent, you’re from Tianhai, right? Who’s in your family?” Her eyes were filled with kindness as they swept over his face.

Chu Tianfeng felt a pang of despair but gritted his teeth and answered, “I’m an orphan.”

“Oh, that’s alright.” Her gaze grew even more compassionate. “Auntie will treat you like a son.”

Cold sweat dripped down Chu Tianfeng’s back. He quickly shifted the topic again, “Auntie, we still have two hours to drive. You can rest a bit in the car.”

“No need. I just woke up and feel full of energy.” She then turned to persuade Tang Yi in the backseat, “Yi’er, you should get some sleep.”

Tang Yi obediently agreed and immediately lay down to rest.

“Chu, how long have you two been together?” The old lady smiled and looked at Chu Tianfeng again.

Chu Tianfeng’s forehead was already sweaty. He wished he could stuff the old lady into the trunk.

Later, he deliberately pretended to be deaf and dumb, or would hum and laugh, playing hide-and-seek with the old lady.

Just after the early hours of the day, the three finally returned to Tianhai. After some quick washing, Tang Yi arranged for Chu Tianfeng to rest in his original room.

After running for over ten hours straight, Chu Tianfeng was quite exhausted and, without caring about anything else, burrowed under the covers and fell into a deep sleep.

Unexpectedly, as he just entered dreamland, he suddenly felt a softness beside him and a refreshing fragrance wafted into his nose.

“I had no choice. My mom sent me over,” Tang Yi said bashfully, her face flushed as she saw Chu Tianfeng’s stunned expression.

Chu Tianfeng was utterly embarrassed and thought to himself that this girl’s foolishness must be hereditary.

“Go to sleep. After all, it’s not like we haven’t slept together before,” Tang Yi tidied her bangs and slowly closed her eyes.

Indeed, it wasn’t the first time, and Chu Tianfeng could only comfort himself with that.

The next day, perhaps due to the previous night’s fatigue, both Chu and Tang Yi woke up rather late.

Seeing a pot full of bone broth on the dining table, Chu Tianfeng’s appetite immediately perked up.

“Eat more, make sure you nourish yourself well!” Tang’s mother genuinely treated Chu Tianfeng like her son, smiling as she watched him eat heartily.

“Thank you, Auntie!” Chu Tianfeng felt something was off but couldn’t quite put his finger on it.

Tang Yi kept serving him dishes like a dutiful wife.

“Don’t be so polite with Auntie. Remember to come often. Auntie will cook delicious food for you,” Tang’s mother said, pointing to Tang Yi, “Yi’er’s cooking is also quite good; some dishes she makes are even better than mine.”

“Yes, yes…” Chu Tianfeng replied meekly.

After the meal, Chu Tianfeng eagerly asked to leave.

The old lady naturally urged and coaxed him to stay.

If it weren’t for the old lady, Chu Tianfeng might have stayed a few more days. After all, his injuries had just healed, and he shouldn’t overexert himself.

But thinking of the old lady’s enthusiasm and especially the awkwardness at night, he dared not linger a minute longer.

Tang Yi seemed reluctant too and saw him off downstairs.

“What are your plans?” Tang Yi’s eyes were full of concern.

She understood Chu Tianfeng’s predicament reasonably well.

She didn’t know who was after him or why, but she knew that if those people caught him, the outcome would be tragic.

“Taking it step by step. This injury made me realize my weaknesses. I want to train hard and, once my strength is sufficient, come back out,” Chu Tianfeng said lightly.

In truth, he wanted to rush to Lu City immediately, wipe out the Tomb Raiding Sect, and kill Cao Zhengming.

The Tomb Raiding Sect’s repeated provocations had deeply angered him.

But he didn’t dare tell Tang Yi, lest she worry.

“What about the academy?” Tang Yi asked again.

“It doesn’t matter,” Chu Tianfeng shrugged. “I don’t have classes in the second half of the year.”

He had finished all make-up exams and coursework; only a graduation thesis remained, but that was next year’s matter.

“That’s not what I meant,” Tang Yi forced a smile. “You’ve worked so hard to become famous—are you really going to give up just like that?”

“Famous?” Chu Tianfeng found it both funny and pathetic.

He had been reborn on Earth for nearly half a year and no longer resisted fame as before.

Whether he liked it or not, he was already well-known in the martial world. It could be said that few martial artists in China did not know Chu Tianfeng.

The more you have, the less you notice. Even if the whole world knew him, so what?

There were plenty eager to hunt him down, and none who didn’t.

“How about this? I’ve recently taken on many scripts. I’ll keep an eye out for you. If there’s a suitable role, I’ll reserve it for you. How does that sound?” Tang Yi earnestly advised.

“Alright, thank you, Teacher Tang,” Chu Tianfeng said, though he didn’t believe he’d have a chance to return before the camera.

“There’s no need to thank me,” Tang Yi teased him. “Be careful in everything. I can’t help you much. If you still remember me… your teacher… and us… anyway, come back and visit when you can.”

Her voice softened, and her eyes glistened with mist.

“I will come back. I still need to get my diploma,” Chu Tianfeng said, turning and striding forward.

From Tang Yi’s gaze, he sensed both something ambiguous and a hint of unease.

But he didn’t want that warmth, nor did he want to soothe her insecurity.

He knew he belonged to wandering and drifting. To Tang Yi, his pounding hooves were a beautiful mistake; he was no homecoming, only a passerby.

After parting with Tang Yi, he headed to the bus station and took a bus to Lu City.

Lu City, located in Shaanxi Province, was a historic cultural city with over four thousand years of history, having been the capital for more than a hundred emperors.

Logically, there should be over a hundred imperial tombs.

However, only a dozen or so imperial tombs remained intact; the other ninety-plus had been plundered by the Tomb Raiding Sect.

It was said that the Tomb Raiding Sect originated in Lu City, having excavated dozens of imperial tombs and turning a few petty grave robbers into what they are today.

Finding the exact location of the Tomb Raiding Sect was not easy. Chu Tianfeng spent five full days staking out the bus and train stations, capturing several informants, and finally uncovered their main bases.

However, what troubled Chu Tianfeng was that the Tomb Raiding Sect had not one but three main strongholds.

The first was the Jinmen Martial Arts School in the east of the city, serving as their training base with over three hundred disciples.

The school’s master was Hao Zhensheng, an elder responsible for transmission within the sect, with early innate cultivation, ranking as the second strongest after sect leader Cao Zhengming.

Additionally, the Sect’s Discipline Hall, led by Liu Zhan, stationed dozens of people at Jinmen Martial Arts School. Liu Zhan’s cultivation was slightly lower, at the pinnacle of transformation energy.

The second was the Jinmen Club in the south, the true headquarters led by Cao Zhengming, guarded by the Law Enforcement Hall, Foreign Affairs Hall, and the elite units Three Eagles and Nine Tigers. The latter were said to be quite powerful, with cultivation levels ranging from mid to peak transformation energy.

However, the Jinmen Club had only about a hundred personnel.

The last was the Jinmen Jewelry Center in the west, guarded by Vice President Ma Shouxin and over a hundred members of the Patrol Hall.

As the name implies, the Jewelry Center was the sect’s treasure trove, housing various valuables plundered from all over.

Ma Shouxin also possessed early innate cultivation, while the Patrol Hall disciples varied widely, from initial dark energy to mid-transformation energy.

Chu Tianfeng had originally planned to attack the Jinmen Club directly. After learning about the Jewelry Center, he promptly revised his plan.

Killing people was important, but treasures were even more so to him.

In his view, the lives of Cao Zhengming and the others were worthless. Had the Tomb Raiding Sect not kept provoking him repeatedly, he wouldn’t even spare them a glance.
