“Human! I order you to return this to me immediately! Or I’ll bite you!”
Yadina stretched out her hand again, but Xiayang sighed helplessly and raised the magical mint a little higher.
Seeing Xiayang stubbornly refuse, Yadina gently shook his arm and pouted, coaxing,
“Please, Xiayang, I feel like ants are crawling all over me. You’re the best person I know in both worlds. Just let me touch my head once more, please give it back to me, won’t you~”
Xiayang was speechless. Ants crawling all over? How was that any different from being high…?
He glanced at the magical mint, now shrunk to about a quarter of its original size, then looked at Yadina’s pleading eyes. With a sigh, he finally returned it to her.
There was still a little left anyway, and if he didn’t let her finish now, she would surely keep thinking about it, forcing him to stay alert.
After Yadina licked the last bit, she began licking her own hands. Xiayang silently tucked the remaining nine pieces of jasmine mint deeper into his pocket.
She must not find out about these!
Suddenly, a warm, moist sensation came from his fingers. Xiayang turned to see Yadina leaning on his palm, extending her tiny pink tongue to lick his fingers.
Two minutes later, Yadina’s tongue cramped. She lay struggling painfully in the center of Xiayang’s palm but soon relaxed and fell asleep right there.
“Sigh~”
Xiayang exhaled deeply, finally feeling at ease.
Magical mint wasn’t very addictive. After Yadina woke up, she would forget the sensation and taste, so she wouldn’t dwell on it.
As night deepened, Xiayang yawned tiredly and got up, heading to the bedroom.
Lying in bed with the covers pulled up, he felt his hands and feet warm again, but suddenly his phone rang.
Xiayang frowned, extending a hand out from under the covers. Who could be so rude at this hour?
But when he saw the name displayed, he couldn’t help but be stunned.
“General Su?” He answered the call, puzzled. “What’s the matter this late at night?”
The background was noisy, but he could barely hear Su Yixue say,
“Are you free now?”
“Yes, what’s up?”
“I’m sending you the location. Come over. We need more hands here.”
“Oh, and remember to bring your ID.”
Xiayang: “???”
He stood frozen in place.
ID? Could it be the ID he was thinking of?
In the middle of the night!
A man and a woman alone!
And they need an ID!

What is this about?
Xiayang’s heart raced. Could it be he was finally about to be taken advantage of?
No, he meant — was he being forced to serve his superior?!
He tried to ask for confirmation but found the call had already ended.
Xiayang forced himself to stay calm. At this point, overthinking wouldn’t help. He quickly got out of bed and dressed.
Before leaving, he glanced at the peacefully sleeping Yadina. He hadn’t intended to bring her, but at this hour, if something unexpected happened, at least tossing her out could serve as a flashbang distraction…
In the end, Xiayang slipped her into his pocket, worried that if she woke and found him missing, she’d cry and scream, disturbing the neighbors.
Heading downstairs, the autumn and winter chill lingered despite his many layers.
He scanned a shared bike and received the location from Su Yixue.
When he saw the destination, his pupils shrank instantly, and he swallowed hard.
Baiyun Hotel!
He had guessed right! This time, he really had guessed right!
Fifteen minutes later—
Xiayang stood on the roadside, dazed, staring at the sign above the shop.
It really was Baiyun Hotel.
He turned his head to look at the neighboring shop.
Baiyun Internet Café…
And Su Yixue emerged from the net café to greet him.
“You finally came. This net café isn’t on the map, so I just picked a nearby place,” Su Yixue said, beckoning him over.
Tonight, she wasn’t in her usual work attire but wore a trench coat over a white sweater. With her tall figure and the aura she exuded, she looked like a perfectly cold, elegant older sister.
Xiayang’s eyes darkened involuntarily. So that’s what bringing the ID meant!
He sighed. Since he was already here, might as well play some games.
The two walked side by side into the net café. Su Yixue took the ID from Xiayang and placed it on the front desk.
“Net admin, overnight stay, arrange a seat next to me for him.”
“Hey beauty, so this is the boyfriend you’ve been waiting for~ With such a handsome boyfriend, no wonder you never wanted to play with me.”
The net admin laughed heartily, then handed the ID back to Xiayang.
“Handsome guy, your machine is ready. You’ve got such a pretty girlfriend, and she’s willing to bring you to the net café and even treat you online. You better cherish her.”
Xiayang: “???”
He looked at Su Yixue, eyes full of confusion.

She gave him a meaningful look, signaling him to say no more.
Xiayang nodded, then smiled faintly at the net admin. The two sat down at the prepared computers side by side.
From the front desk to the computers, Xiayang had expected many people to glance at him, especially with such a stunning beauty beside him.
But to his surprise, aside from an occasional sideways glance from someone drinking water, no one paid him any real attention.
Truly Sigma male territory—only such people could ignore him so completely!
Once seated, Su Yixue lowered her voice and explained the earlier scene.
“If I didn’t say you were my boyfriend, I’d get bothered by a lot of unnecessary people.”
Xiayang chuckled bitterly. She was right. People playing games might not care, but random wanderers, especially net admins, would pester relentlessly.
Especially in a small place like this net café.
“So, you called me here just to play games all night?”
“Of course not.” Su Yixue’s voice dropped even lower, almost whispering in his ear.
“After days of investigation and some help from my family, I’ve roughly tracked the suspect who blew up the company’s basement.”
“How so?”
“He spends five to six nights a week staying up all night here at this net café. I want you to help out—to increase our chances by ten percent!”
Xiayang stroked his chin and nodded. It was true he’d said he was unbeatable in fights.
“Just the two of us? Going after a bomb fanatic?”
“Didn’t you bring Yadina?”
“The two of us, plus a flashbang and a little fox, going after a bomb fanatic?”
Su Yixue’s lips twitched slightly.
She gave Xiayang a glance, indicating he should look around.
“All these people playing Eternal Return around us…”
“Are all your people?”
“Yes, all players I recruited in the circle.”
Xiayang glanced up, counting about twenty or so.
“You have so many, and you still called me?”
“Didn’t you say you’re the best fighter in the world?”
Xiayang: “…”
