Chapter Forty-Five: The Farce
Lu Yalan pondered for a moment. “Come serve in my room. If you do well, I’ll promote you to head maid.”
“Miss!” Ah Cao was truly stunned this time, never imagining such good fortune could come her way.
Lu Yalan nodded, confirming she hadn't misheard, and encouraged her, “Do your best!”
Ah Cao nodded vigorously, her heart pounding wildly, unsure if it was the unexpected joy or the gentle manner of her mistress. She took a deep breath, picked up the kettle, and followed Lu Yalan out of the side room.
Behind them, the candle flared with a soft crackle, leaving the room bathed in gentle light.
Lu Yalan’s decision to have Ah Cao attend her was not a whim. For one thing, with Hong Xing absent, she needed someone to serve her.
Mu Chen and his companions launched a direct attack. In one round, the white serpent lost about thirty percent of its vitality.
By then, the medics were already waiting nearby. They swiftly carried Zhao Zhihui onto the ambulance.
“Brother Lin, shall we start farming monsters? There are plenty of people killing those level-one earth wolves outside the beginner village,” Fatty chuckled, clearly eager for a big fight.
She had worried she wouldn’t even get to eat grilled meat by nightfall. She had merely praised a certain clever scoundrel in passing, and before evening, everything was prepared.
We didn’t use the teleportation scroll, but instead took advantage of the free daily return, which lasted two minutes. Our spirits were high, and we were all quite relaxed.
“I’ll go with you, otherwise I won’t have many days left to keep you company. In a few days, I’ll have to leave to shoot the movie.” With a hint of grievance in her tone, Jado bit Li Yu’s shoulder.
Ling Jue was just regaining his senses when he noticed his master was gone. Turning quickly, he caught up: What’s going on? Wasn’t that the voice of Miss Liu’s brother? What kind of scene are these siblings playing out? No wonder the master was angry; for a young lady to suddenly have a son, who wouldn’t be upset?
This was not something ordinary people could accomplish; even Jia Xu himself couldn’t guarantee he’d do better than Li Ru.
A flurry of obliteration resounded, as white scales collided with the wind barrier and vanished without a trace.
Liu Qingxi knew: Zhang Daoheng was a senior advisor to her grandfather, deeply trusted. She couldn’t risk a confrontation. So she simply stayed silent, watching Wang Zuo.
Given the circumstances, if he still made the call, it meant he had something important to report.
This company entered the Huan country market in 1994, so it still valued the East and wasn’t particularly discriminatory.
The total number of employees had reached sixty, and the team was still expanding. The second batch of twenty concrete pumps had already been sent to the production workshop.
If she had awakened Ling Guang first, the two of them would have been fighting by now, feathers and fur flying.
This was his partner of more than ten years, the one he’d decided to spend his life with from the moment his heart first stirred with love.
On the screen, Yin Zi hesitated for a long time, not clicking the [Continue] button, but instead staring thoughtfully at the rare respite of the pause menu after death.
Though there were healing potions, sometimes whether you could drink one depended on luck, hoping the boss would show mercy.
Bob blinked back tears, quickly instructing his companions to holster their pistols. He forced a smile, and his posture slumped a little.
After overcoming several difficult challenges, the guests’ first step upon finding the signpost wasn’t to check for supplies, but to see whether the question on the sign was hard.
The python looked enormous, its entire body radiating a terrifying, wild aura, its girth wider than two buckets.
Feng Qi had wanted to tell Tang Yeshuang what he’d witnessed, but then remembered she was blind—now, that seemed a blessing. Cannibalism among their kind—what could be more dreadful?
Even with the Wang family as a backing, the Qian family was not afraid. Though the Wang family was powerful, there was still a gap compared to the Qian family. Being the richest in Tianhai City was not just an empty boast.
