The werewolf’s downward strike was blocked by Ou Xiaolu’s [Purple Silk Robe]; no matter how much force the werewolf applied, he could not break through the defense.

Seizing the opportunity, the young woman delivered a full-powered punch to the werewolf's abdomen. The timing was impeccable, catching the creature the moment he was off-balance. From behind, Ou Xiaolu heard a dull thud, like a heavy mallet striking leather. The werewolf was sent flying, crashing into a car and flattening its frame.

Springing back up, the werewolf let out a savage roar. His muscles bulged, and his claws shifted into a metallic sheen. Seeing the beast howling, the girl spoke to Ou Xiaolu, "Can you hold off a werewolf like this?"

Ou Xiaolu sneered, "Don't worry. A brainless creature like this can't break through this layer of purple silk."

The girl glanced at him. "I'll take your word for it. Once we finish off this mutt, I'll buy you a drink."

Her bold attitude puzzled Ou Xiaolu, but he was even more surprised when she pulled a glowing white spear from thin air, while a light-filled circular shield appeared in her left hand. The moment they appeared, Ou Xiaolu sensed the immense power radiating from them.

The werewolf felt it too. He realized he had bitten off more than he could chew with this target, but he couldn't figure out who these two were. Ou Xiaolu’s defense looked like an Eastern magical artifact—as long as it had energy, it could withstand almost any attack. Against such an opponent, constant pressure was the only way, as werewolves possessed near-infinite stamina.

However, the girl was a mystery. Only the "God-born" wielded such spears and shields. She was likely of Amazonian or Norse descent. These God-born were the most troublesome; like werewolves and vampires, their power was tied to their bloodline, but theirs was of a higher order, exerting a natural suppression over the werewolf. With Ou Xiaolu also keeping his sights locked on him, the werewolf began to retreat.

He pointed at the girl and roared, "You just wait!" He didn't even look at Ou Xiaolu, nor did he mention the business with Alod.

Ou Xiaolu knew he had been marked. If the werewolf escaped, it wouldn't be long before he returned with a pack. He had no intention of letting him leave. While the werewolf was still posturing, Ou Xiaolu struck first, summoning two sharks—one appearing in front of the beast, the other to his side.

The werewolf, assuming these were sword-qi constructs like the previous lions, scrambled backward to dodge. But Ou Xiaolu’s sharks were a skill; once locked on, they would pursue until they hit their mark. The werewolf couldn't outrun them, and the shark sank its teeth deep into his flesh. The werewolf tried to tank the hit, but the sharks ignored physical defenses—unless the target had skin like stone, they would pierce through everything.

In an instant, the werewolf was covered in deep wounds. The girl seized the opening, moving like lightning. She slammed her shield into the werewolf’s head, knocking him down, and then drove her spear straight down. The strike was precise and cruel, aiming for the werewolf’s lower half. The creature let out a high-pitched, piercing shriek.

Ou Xiaolu felt a sympathetic chill and decided it might be best not to mess with her. However, his grudge against the werewolf took precedence. He lunged forward, sword spinning, and struck downward. The werewolf, reeling from the agony of the spear, didn't even attempt to dodge, perhaps believing that only the girl's spear could harm him.

But Ou Xiaolu wasn't relying on the sword alone; two miniature sharks condensed at the tip of the blade, which was the true key to his strike. As the blade pierced the werewolf's mouth, the two small sharks slid down his throat and began tearing him apart from the inside.

The werewolf’s defense was strong, but no match for the offspring of the Silver Dragon King. Within moments, he was writhing on the ground in agony.

Police officers began to swarm the area, guns drawn, unsure of what to do. Ou Xiaolu looked at the girl. "Your turn or mine?"

The girl rolled her eyes, put away her spear and shield, and said, "You handle it. I'll be waiting over there."

"Wait!" one of the officers shouted. "We need you to assist with the investigation."

"Not interested." The girl didn't even look at them. She walked back to where she had been standing, picked up her belongings, turned, and vanished before their eyes.

The police were stunned, their gaze shifting to Ou Xiaolu. He looked at the werewolf still rolling on the ground. Knowing the creature might recover if not finished off, Ou Xiaolu sighed, walked up to him, and, ignoring the officers, raised his sword and severed the werewolf's head.

The police were horrified, pointing their guns at him as if ready to fire at the slightest movement. Ou Xiaolu glared at them. "Take it up with my lawyer. And for the record, I don't know my lawyer's name."

With a flash of electricity, he prepared to leave, but then he noticed a white glow emanating from a hat the werewolf had dropped on the car roof. Thinking he had missed out on loot, he scooped up the hat, turned into a bolt of purple lightning, and vanished from sight.
