At this moment, Tiger was still alive. His entire body was covered in wounds carved out by shards of iron, but such minor injuries could never claim his life. What truly left him severely wounded was the abrupt transformation from the Black Wind into human form; he had lost control of his body and crashed heavily onto the ground.

He glanced at Ou Xiaolu’s window, where Ou Xiaolu and Arrow were craning their necks to peer down below.

Tiger could see it clearly—Arrow was not an ordinary tiger. His strength was equal to Tiger’s own, and he too possessed mastery over the Black Wind technique, a power reserved for tigers.

With this realization, Tiger’s desire for Arrow grew even stronger. He cast another look toward Ou Xiaolu, intent on retreating for now, planning to return later to deal with Ou Xiaolu.

From afar, Ou Xiaolu noticed Tiger’s movements and snorted coldly, “Looks like he hasn’t given up yet.”

“Let’s finish him off,” he said.

Ou Xiaolu surveyed the surroundings, seeing more and more people becoming aware of the commotion. He knew he could not simply rush down to strike Tiger, so he spoke to Arrow, “Make him turn into Black Wind again.”

“That’s easy,” Arrow growled softly. Another gust of Black Wind rose, sweeping toward Tiger.

Seeing this, Tiger immediately rolled on the ground, transforming into a cloud of Black Wind to escape.

Just then, Ou Xiaolu raised his hand, and two sharks appeared within the Black Wind that Tiger had become. Both sharks were pure energy manifestations formed by internal power, capable of inflicting extraordinary harm even on enemies made of elements.

Coordinating together, the two sharks devoured half of Tiger’s Black Wind.

With a shrill scream, Tiger reverted from Black Wind back to human form. This time, he was in even worse shape than before. Previously, he had merely been battered into grave injury; now, half the flesh and blood on his body had been torn away.

Most crucially, Tiger’s vitality was drained completely by this assault. Before, he had been able to rely on his tenacious life force to survive, but now, he could no longer manage such a feat. As he transformed back into human form, he only had time to glance at his surroundings before collapsing, unable to rise again.

Seeing the notification for the kill experience, Ou Xiaolu sneered dismissively, “Only ten points of experience. Pathetic.”

“Not at all. I got ten points too, so I suppose the experience was split between us,” Arrow replied cheerfully. He had barely exerted any effort in the attack, yet had gained experience; surely, this was the true method of playing games.

Ou Xiaolu had nothing more to say to Arrow. He poked his head out to observe the situation outside before shutting the window.

For Ou Xiaolu, the scene below was utter chaos. Many had witnessed a cloud of Black Wind shrieking through the air, then transforming into human form and crashing to the ground. It was only a matter of time before the entire campus learned of it.

Previously, with the Blood Council’s suppression, perhaps the matter would not have escalated. But now, with the Council’s influence withdrawn from Shixi Campus, things were different. Soon, the whole city of Xinxiang would know.

The man called Tiger had died, but he had also dragged their leader into the mess. The Blood Council would surely want to know why they had come here.

Of course, none of this concerned Ou Xiaolu. He glanced once more at the chaotic scene below, then closed the window and lay down to sleep.

Before sleeping, Ou Xiaolu relayed everything that had happened to Booth, and inquired whether there were similar organizations in the world of “The Broken Scepter.”

Booth could not answer directly. He could only promise to investigate, for not every world had a powerful figure like Wayne who could single-handedly establish such an organization.

Just as Ou Xiaolu lay down, Charles, who had been watching the commotion outside, returned. He exclaimed loudly, “Rhinotiger, did you see what happened out there? On my way back, I saw someone fall from the sky! My God, I always thought superheroes were just legends—now I’ve seen one with my own eyes!”

Ou Xiaolu had just lain down and had no desire to respond to Charles.

But Charles was the sort who would keep talking even if ignored. He rambled on incessantly.

Finally, Ou Xiaolu sat up in exasperation. “So what? What are you trying to say? If you keep disturbing my sleep, I’ll have Arrow throw you out.”

Charles glanced at Arrow’s size, then at Ou Xiaolu’s furious expression, and meekly lowered his head.

At last, he asked timidly, “Rhinotiger, do you think I could ever become a superhero?”

Ou Xiaolu shot him a look but said nothing. In truth, he had potions that could grant Charles extraordinary power in an instant—but would he really give them to Charles?

He was not particularly close to Charles. Despite Charles calling him “master” and trailing after him daily, Ou Xiaolu believed that if someone showed greater strength, Charles would surely follow them instead.

So, even if he had things to enhance Charles, he would never bestow them.

Charles, startled by Ou Xiaolu’s reaction, understood his meaning. He gazed out the window, his face full of longing, but dared not ask about extraordinary powers again, fearing that Ou Xiaolu might throw him out in anger.

Meanwhile, Tiger’s two companions learned of the incident as well, unsure what to say.

Especially their leader, who looked at his other subordinate in confusion. “Do you think this news is fake?”

The subordinate pondered, equally perplexed, but could never admit it was false. He cautiously adopted an analytical tone.

“Boss, do you think the Blood Council has already targeted us?”

“What do you mean?”

“Look, Tiger’s power is quite unique. If the Blood Council hadn’t targeted us, how would they know that when Tiger transforms into Black Wind, it’s his weakest moment?

I think the Blood Council knows we’re searching for that item and has been monitoring us. Even though this campus is their weakest domain, they’ve been watching our movements closely.

So they struck while we were off guard. I believe that’s why Tiger went out at night and ended up getting killed.”

Hearing his subordinate’s analysis, the boss slapped his thigh and declared, “That’s it! We were careless. Let’s leave here quickly and rally our forces to deal with the Blood Council. I swear I’ll avenge Tiger!

Go, now!”
