Shen Zhi followed Guan Yueyue all the way to the hospital. Guan Yueyue finally found a parking spot and parked the car. After getting out, she went to the restroom. Entering the hospital lobby, she spotted Shen Zhi chatting with several doctors from a distance. Guan Yueyue quickly passed by them.
“I have some things to attend to, so I won’t say much,” Shen Zhi called after her. Soon after, the hospital director, who happened to pass by, pulled Shen Zhi away. Shen Zhi wanted to refuse but couldn’t.
Guan Yueyue finished registering and walked over, noticing the doctors were still there, but Shen Zhi was nowhere to be seen. Were the doctors really this free today?
Just as Guan Yueyue was about to head upstairs, stepping onto the first stair, she overheard a female doctor say, “I heard Dr. Shen used to work at a major hospital in the capital, but after a medical accident, he was demoted to this small town of Haicheng.”
“What kind of medical accident?” someone asked.
The female doctor replied, “Apparently, he performed three consecutive high-risk surgeries, completely exhausted himself, and the third patient died right on the operating table.”
“My goodness, I can’t believe something like that happened.”
A male doctor chimed in, “No wonder he only takes on one surgery a month now.”
The female doctor continued, “Because of that, he indirectly caused a death. But since he’s the director’s protégé, the director protects him fiercely and forbids us from gossiping about it. Still, Dr. Shen was so remorseful that he spent an entire month drinking at the Nocturne Bar.”

A whole month?
Guan Yueyue stopped listening and hurried upstairs.
So Shen Zhi wasn’t a male model after all. She had pulled him into bed without a second thought. How foolish was she to assume that a man like Shen Zhi was a male model?
Shen Zhi, having finally shaken off the director, went to look for Guan Yueyue, only to find she had already left.
Inside the car, Guan Yueyue stared intently at the test results, willing herself to see a hole through them. She was pregnant—just one night together and she was pregnant. Had Shen Zhi been with her without protection, or was it deliberate?
How had she not noticed anything at all?
Wasn’t she supposed to be smarter now? Why was she still so stupid?

At the Xu residence.
Xu Ziyu handed over a stack of photos to Shen Zhi. “Brother, help me pick which car model to go with.”
Shen Zhi flipped through them one by one, then pointed decisively at one. “This one.”
Xu Ziyu took the photo and looked closely. “Shang Meixiang? Why her?”
“Her gaze is pretty good,” Shen Zhi replied.
Xu Ziyu looked again. “Those eyes… somehow remind me of our Yueyue. Alright, it’s her then.”

...
Shang Meixiang had only been in the industry for a year, mostly running errands for others. As a newcomer, no one expected such a big company like Guangyuan to choose her for her first shoot.
She was over the moon with excitement.
She instantly posted on Weibo to show off.
Within five minutes, there were already thousands of comments below the post.
The next day, Xu Ziyu called her to the office to sign a contract.
Shang Meixiang was a sucker for good looks; seeing Xu Ziyu, her eyes lit up. She hadn’t expected her boss to be so handsome.
“Take a look at the contract. If you have any concerns, you can bring them up,” Xu Ziyu said, handing over the contract.
As Shang Meixiang took the contract, she deliberately brushed Xu Ziyu’s finger.
Xu Ziyu withdrew his hand. “Read it carefully and just sign.”
Shang Meixiang replied softly, “Okay, President Xu.”
Xu Ziyu suddenly added, “Don’t imitate how others speak.” This woman was actually mimicking how their Yueyue talked.
Shang Meixiang was speechless.
