Inside Guan Yueyue’s private villa.
Guan Yueyue was torn over whether to terminate the pregnancy, unable to make a decision after much deliberation.
She took out a coin and decided to let fate decide.
Heads meant keeping the baby, tails meant not.
She flipped the coin, which landed and spun before finally coming to a stop.
At that moment, Guan Yueyue seemed to breathe a sigh of relief—
It was heads.
Heaven had granted her permission to keep the child.
To ensure she ate three nutritious meals a day, Guan Yueyue specially hired a housekeeper.
The housekeeper’s name was Hua Wen, a gentle woman around forty years old, an excellent cook.
Guan Yueyue was very pleased with her.
“Sister Hua, I won’t be home for lunch today, so no need to prepare anything.”
“Understood, Miss.”
...
In the afternoon, Guan Yueyue passed by a beauty salon and saw Shang Meixiang, who did not recognize her at that time.
She overheard Shang Meixiang telling another friend, “I never expected that the one who picked me as the car model was actually the elder brother of President Xu, the eldest son of the Xu family.”

Her close friend was puzzled, “Isn’t President Xu an only child? How can he have an older brother?”
Shang Meixiang smiled, “In wealthy families, who doesn’t have an illegitimate child? I want to try to meet his brother—his name’s Shen Zhi, surname Shen, probably from his mother’s side. Do you think he’ll agree to my invitation?”
“You can try. Maybe he’ll like you.”
Shang Meixiang smiled even more brightly, “He chose me, so he must have taken a fancy to me. I’ll give it a shot tonight.”
Guan Yueyue shook her head. So brazenly inviting Shen Zhi out—aren’t you afraid Ming Ziluo will tear you apart?
Others she might not care about, but Shang Meixiang—she wanted to see the consequences of her invitation to Shen Zhi.
—
Just as Ming Ziluo entered, she saw Shang Meixiang reaching out to touch Shen Zhi’s shoulder. Ming Ziluo swiftly pulled her over with a smile, saying, “Miss, you seem quite unfamiliar here.”
Shang Meixiang, who had never met Ming Ziluo, replied, “I’m Shang Meixiang. If we don’t know each other, today’s a good chance to get acquainted.”
Ming Ziluo kept smiling, “Ah Zhi, what’s going on here?”
“No idea,” Shen Zhi answered.
At that moment, Xu Ziyu arrived with Guan Yueyue. Guan Yueyue had come to see Shang Meixiang. In her past life, Shang Meixiang had caused her great harm, so she wanted to see what fate awaited her.
“President Xu,” Shang Meixiang called out to Xu Ziyu.
Xu Ziyu asked, “What are you doing at my house?”
Shen Zhi said, “Isn’t she here looking for you?”
Xu Ziyu replied, “I didn’t invite her.”

Shang Meixiang immediately felt very awkward. “I’m quite curious about the eldest young master, so I thought I’d come have a look. President Xu, sorry for the disturbance, I’ll leave right away.”
She had barely taken a few steps when Ming Ziluo stopped her, “Since you’re here, why rush to leave?”
Shang Meixiang hesitated, but in truth, she didn’t want to leave.
Ming Ziluo immediately saw through her thoughts, “It’s fine. They won’t say anything about you. Please, have a seat, Miss Shang.”
Guan Yueyue stayed close to Xu Ziyu as usual. Xu Ziyu affectionately draped an arm around her shoulder. “Would you like to sit down?”
Guan Yueyue obediently nodded.
Xu Ziyu helped her sit.
“Would you like some water?” he asked.
Guan Yueyue’s voice was soft, “Something warm, please.”
Xu Ziyu smiled and poured a cup of water for her, making sure it was warm. “Here you go.”
Guan Yueyue took the cup, holding it in her hands.
When she looked up, their eyes met Shen Zhi’s gaze. They held the look for a moment before Shen Zhi looked away, his thoughts unclear.
Guan Yueyue sipped the water slowly, her mind somewhat distracted.
