Chapter 21: Found It (Fourth Update)
Fortunately, there was a door nearby. Guan Yueyue quickly slipped inside and pressed herself against the back of the door, only poking her head out once the two sets of footsteps had faded away.
It turned out that Shen Zhi and Ming Ziluo had not rekindled their old flame, nor were they together. At this thought, the corners of Guan Yueyue’s mouth curved upward involuntarily.
Back at the venue, a jewelry tycoon approached Shen Zhi with a glass of wine in hand. "Mr. Shen, you look quite pale. Are you not feeling well?"
Shen Zhi smiled faintly. "Not at all. Just a bit tired."
Seeing this, Ming Ziluo leaned in. "What are you and Uncle Chen chatting about, my dear Zhi?"
"Just idle talk," Chen Xiu replied. "I heard from Ziluo that Mr. Shen is a thoracic surgeon and also a specialist in neurology. That is truly impressive."
Shen Zhi maintained the smile on his face. "Not at all. You are too kind, Mr. Chen. You are the truly remarkable one; your company has entered the top one hundred in just a few short years. Very few people could achieve what you have."
Chen Xiu laughed heartily. "Just luck, that's all. Ziluo, you have truly found a good husband."
After Chen Xiu left, the warmth on Shen Zhi’s face vanished instantly, becoming so cold that even after the reception ended, Ming Ziluo did not dare to speak to him.
In the car, Ming Ziluo watched Shen Zhi’s profile, wanting to speak several times but swallowing her words each time.
After an unknown amount of time had passed, Shen Zhi finally spoke, "I will drop you off at your hotel first."
"Alright." Ming Ziluo did not dare to press him, fearing he might lose his temper.
After dropping Ming Ziluo at the hotel, Shen Zhi returned to the Xu residence. It was already ten o'clock at night when he arrived.
At the entrance of the Xu residence, beside a Bentley, Guan Yueyue was being pestered by Xu Ziyu. "Let me have a kiss."
"Brother Ziyu, you're drunk. Don't be like this." Guan Yueyue pushed back against him with all her might.
"I want you. I want you right now." Xu Ziyu grabbed her wrists. "Don't refuse me; I'm not drunk."
Shen Zhi walked over step by step, his eyes chillingly cold.
Guan Yueyue saw him and hurriedly explained, "Your brother has had too much to drink; he's not in his right mind."
Shen Zhi pulled Xu Ziyu away and called out, "Uncle Qin."
The butler, hearing the voice, came running from the villa. "Young Master."
"The second young master is drunk. Take care of him." Shen Zhi handed Xu Ziyu over to the butler.
Guan Yueyue finally breathed a sigh of relief. "I'll be heading home now, then."
"I'll take you."
Guan Yueyue did not refuse and got into Shen Zhi's car.
"Are you going home, or to your private villa?" Shen Zhi asked.
Sitting in the back, Guan Yueyue considered for a moment. "I'll go home."
Shen Zhi dropped her off at her doorstep. As the car stopped, Guan Yueyue opened the door, only to hear Shen Zhi ask, "Do you intend to continue seeing Xu Ziyu like this?"
Guan Yueyue paused. Xu Ziyu was her shield now, and using him as a shield could be considered a form of revenge. "I have no intention of breaking up with him."
The meaning was clear: she had chosen Xu Ziyu.
"I see," Shen Zhi replied.
Seeing that Shen Zhi had nothing more to say, Guan Yueyue stepped out of the car.
As the car drove away, Guan Yueyue stood in place for a while before finally moving to head inside.

In the living room of the Xu residence, Liu Hui arrived with a briefcase to see Shen Zhi.
"How did the investigation go?" Shen Zhi brewed a cup of tea and placed it on the coffee table in front of Liu Hui.
Liu Hui replied, "I found it. Although it was very well hidden, I managed to uncover it."
Shen Zhi sat on the sofa opposite Liu Hui. "Tell me."
