Chapter 6: The Professor
Guan Yueyue felt a nudge on her arm. She turned slightly to see her seatmate, a male student with a pair of canine teeth that made him look quite cute.
"Classmate," he asked, "you don't seem very interested in Professor Shen."
Before Guan Yueyue could reply, two female students at the desk in front immediately turned around.
The short-haired student exclaimed, "I can't believe there’s someone who isn't interested in Professor Shen! Let me tell you, he’s hailed as a genius designer. He’s top-tier in every field he touches and has won countless awards. See that iconic Dinosaur Tower in Haicheng? He designed that."
Guan Yueyue was slightly taken aback.
The other student, who wore her hair in two braids, chimed in, "That's not why I like him. I’m in it for his looks—tall, handsome, and with that 'refined scoundrel' vibe. He’s literally the perfect male lead from my favorite novels."
"How old are you? Still acting like a lovesick fan," the first girl teased.
"Whatever! Mind your own business."
The two turned back around simultaneously.
*Refined scoundrel?* Hearing those words, Guan Yueyue inexplicably thought of Shen Zhi.
*Wait, Shen Zhi also goes by the surname Shen. Could it be…*
*No, that’s impossible.*
Guan Yueyue laughed at her own foolish thought.
"Professor Shen Zhi comes to lecture once a month," Wu An said with a smile. "Today’s session is on UI design. For those of you interested, you may head over there now to listen."
As expected, this training institution was quite flexible.
Within a minute, half of the female students had left.
"Aren't you going?" her seatmate asked again.
Guan Yueyue felt a bit dazed. It was her own fault; she had spent all her time with Shen Zhi in the bedroom and had never once asked what he did for a living, foolishly assuming he was just a professional model.
Wu An scanned the room, where less than half the students remained. "Since their hearts aren't here, they wouldn't have absorbed anything I said anyway. Now, those of you who stayed can listen to my lecture in peace."
Guan Yueyue smiled at her seatmate, took out her pen and notebook, and began to listen attentively.
Wu An continued, "The design industry is constantly evolving, and professional requirements change with the demands of the era. Currently..."
Guan Yueyue listened intently, and the class concluded quickly.
As the session ended, her seatmate asked, "Are you coming back tomorrow?"
"I’m not sure yet."
Guan Yueyue didn't linger and headed straight out of the classroom. Unconsciously, she found herself wandering toward the window of the UI classroom.
Peering through the glass, she saw a crowded scene. Shen Zhi stood at the podium, surrounded by people. Her view was blocked by the throng, allowing her to catch only a glimpse of his profile. He wore gold-rimmed glasses, a white shirt, and black trousers, exuding an aura of cool, restrained elegance.
Guan Yueyue wanted to hear what he was saying, but the ambient noise was too loud to make out any words.
Whether it was because her gaze was too intense or for some other reason, she saw Shen Zhi step away from the podium and walk toward the door.
Guan Yueyue’s expression shifted, and she turned and ran.
By the time Shen Zhi stepped out, he saw only the retreating figure of Guan Yueyue.
She ran until she was outside, gasping for air. She glanced back, hoping he hadn't noticed her. Just as she caught her breath, her phone rang. She pulled it out and saw it was Shen Zhi calling. A shiver ran down her spine; the fear of him was etched into her very bones.
She hurriedly hung up, briefly considering whether to block his number. But then, she hesitated—she couldn't bring herself to do it.
*Am I actually reluctant to let him go?*
*Have I lost my mind?*
*I must be insane.*
Guan Yueyue slapped herself hard across the face.
