Chapter 111: The Great Utopia

Tu Zhe had never dreamed that he would one day become a Star Lord in an outer star domain. True, this planet was practically the last place anyone in the myriad realms would want to claim. But still, how should one put it?

The planet was neither particularly large nor truly small. It all depended on what you compared it with.

Compared with larger planets, of course it was tiny. Against Wall Lodge Two or the Nine Stars of Kui Lodge, it could hardly be called substantial.

But what if one compared it with Earth in his former life?

While he had been in the sky, Tu Zhe had made a rough visual estimate. This barren planet was more than twenty times the size of Earth.

As for the resources beneath its surface, they were in no way inferior to Earth’s. Some mineral resources that Earth had never even heard of existed here in immense quantities.

Take gold, for example. A preliminary estimate suggested that the gold reserves beneath this planet would exceed those of a thousand Earths combined.

Of course, in the myriad realms, gold was hardly a rare commodity.

Treating gold as dirt was something Earth’s people could not do. But in a place where gold could be scooped up in heaps like clods of soil, who would take it seriously?

In this otherworldly realm, gold was the equivalent of dirt on Earth.

Tu Zhe had even thought that, one day, when he returned to Earth, he would fill his Sumeru Ring to the brim with gold, then buy the United States outright and see whether those damned bastards could still swagger about and throw their weight around.

Destroy it outright?

No, that would not do. He was not Japanese; he could not commit such a crime as wiping out an entire nation and people. Buying the Earth with gold would be enough. Then, anyone who dared bully this person or that person could simply be reduced to nothingness.

Nuclear weapons, ray weapons, energy weapons—could any of them withstand a meteor shower?

Until technology reached a certain level, technology was nothing more than children playing with mud.

He was thinking too much and wandering far too far afield.

For now, he had better consider how to deliver his first address as ruler.

At that moment, the frenzied inhabitants of the barren planet raised their arms and cheered, each wave of cries rising higher than the last.

Tu Zhe had saved every single one of them. Such a favor was extraordinarily profound, enough to make the people of the barren planet devote themselves to him completely.

Tu Zhe raised one hand and slowly waved it toward the people of the barren planet.

Did you understand what “slowly” meant? There was great significance in it: slowly, powerfully, steadily, majestically, and with dignity, he waved to his subjects.

Then he decisively pressed his hand downward, signaling that he was about to speak and that everyone could be quiet.

Body language was understood throughout the myriad realms. The people of the barren planet immediately fell silent and gazed expectantly at their new leader.

Tu Zhe’s dignified gaze swept solemnly across every face. In an instant, an imperial aura erupted from him.

He truly was not putting on an act. Now that he was a Star Lord, why would he need to pretend?

That solemnity and majesty had formed naturally. They came from the soul, from the very marrow of his being. Could someone who had not reached such a realm produce them merely by pretending?

Chapter 111: The Great Utopia

The Pig Butcher began his first speech as Star Lord in a calm, dignified, yet approachable tone.

“Everyone, I was originally an ordinary heir from an outer star domain. By a twist of fate, I was rescued by the people of the Barren Star. So today, I wish to say this: I am truly grateful to the Barren Star and to its people.

“Without the Barren Star and its people, neither I nor my family would still be here. In that sense, the Barren Star is the place of my rebirth, my second homeland. And the people of the Barren Star are my reborn parents—my family.

The people of the Barren Star began shouting one after another, saying, “But Star Lord, you saved all of us as well! That makes you our reborn parent too! There is no need to stand on ceremony between us. We are family now—one family!”

Tu Zhe was genuinely moved. The people of the Barren Star were the lowest stratum of this otherworldly realm. They lived from one day to the next, with almost nothing to their name. Yet they possessed hearts of the utmost sincerity and genuineness.

“Everyone, since you have chosen me as the common ruler of this planet, there are certain matters we must make clear.

“First, we can no longer keep calling our planet the Barren Star. It needs a proper, official name. We must build a new home for ourselves in the myriad realms, and we must live with dignity.

Someone was the first to shout, “How about Heir Star?”

The name immediately won the unanimous approval of the people of the Barren Star. Cheers of “Heir Star! Heir Star! Heir Star!” rang out.

Tu Zhe pressed both hands downward, and his resonant voice rose above the noise.

“As for this planet’s name, I believe I will explain that in my second point.

“The second thing I want to discuss is this: What kind of planet do we want?

“Or, put another way, whose planet is this?

“Is it mine?

“Or does it belong to all of us?

“I need an answer from everyone.”

The people of the Barren Star answered almost in unison, “This planet belongs to you, Star Lord!”

Tu Zhe shook his head in disagreement.

“I do not agree with that answer.

“In my view, the sky belongs to everyone; the earth belongs to everyone; this planet belongs to everyone. Any notion of claiming this planet as private property is shameful and intolerable.

“So what I wish to say is this: In the homeland we are going to build, we do not need gods or emperors. We do not need Star Lords or Star Sovereigns.

“In a word, we do not need anyone placed high above us, nor do we need slavery and exploitation. What we need is a world of common unity, where everyone is master and everyone is sovereign.

“This world is ours, and it is yours—but in the final analysis, it belongs to all of us.

“We must build a new homeland with enlightened government, democratic rule of law, a harmonious society, progressive education, a developing economy, scientific and technological civilization, and powerful cultivation.

“Tell me—are you willing?”

Tu Zhe’s speech had plainly left this band of bandits and outlaws bewildered for a moment. They could not quite understand what he meant.

What the hell was he trying to do?

Chapter 111: The Great Utopia

Did he mean there could no longer be a Star Lord?

Were the Star Sovereigns being abolished too?

Did it mean everyone would be equal?

Did it mean they could all become masters, have their say in important and trivial matters alike, and offer their own suggestions?

Did it mean schools and lecture halls would be established to educate their children, who had known nothing since childhood but how to play in the mud?

Did it mean everyone could cultivate, everyone could pursue technology, and everyone could participate in civilization?

Did it mean that those above who bullied those below would finally have somewhere to seek justice?

Did it mean… they were going to create a world of common unity?

The people of the Barren Star remained silent and bewildered for a moment. Then they erupted like a volcano:

“Common unity! Common unity! Common unity! Common unity! Common unity!”

Tu Zhe turned to look at Chu Tiange, the Three Star Sovereigns, the various Cave Masters, and the Divine Kings. In an indifferent tone, he said, “You will lose all titles and privileges and will work and live just like ordinary citizens.

“Whether you feel disappointed or dissatisfied, I can understand. But I need you to state your positions. Do you agree or not?”

Chu Tiange naturally had no objection, and the Three Star Sovereigns expressed their support in turn. As the Star Sovereign of Heavenbreaker put it, even their lives belonged to the Heir. Titles and privileges were certainly nice, but without a life, what good were they?

The various Cave Masters and Divine Kings were far less willing.

In their hearts, they were thinking: Of course I disagree. But does my disagreement matter? You have already made the decision, and everyone seems to think your reasoning is sound. If I keep resisting, am I not simply making trouble for myself?

And so, they unanimously declared their agreement with Tu Zhe’s proposal.

They firmly supported it, without the slightest reservation.

Although Tu Zhe was feeling exceedingly pleased with himself, he had not become so carried away that he forgot himself.

He knew that his proposal would certainly receive the broad support of the people of the Barren Star. But what about those with vested interests?

He had made his speech. No ruling class would ever voluntarily withdraw from the stage of history.

No one with vested interests would willingly surrender those interests.

Damn it, they were now at the brink of life and death and had no choice but to agree. For all he knew, they had already cursed his ancestors for dozens of generations in their hearts.

But that did not matter. All they needed to do was publicly declare their support. Once they became civil servants—department chiefs, bureau directors, ministers, and the like—if they dared to solicit bribes, abuse their power, embezzle, or become corrupt…

Hmph.

Did they really think he did not know how to write the words “bloody purge”?
